FormulaMap

Somewhere in that inherited workbook, a formula multiplies by a hardcoded 1.21. FormulaMap finds it — and every volatile function, error cell and external link — in one scan.

The problem

Every workbook you inherit is a minefield

The VAT rate is typed into twelve formulas instead of one cell. A stray OFFSET makes the whole file recalculate on every keystroke. Three #REF! errors hide on a sheet nobody opens, and a link to a workbook on someone's old laptop quietly feeds your totals.

FormulaMap scans the lot and shows you a map. Hardcoded numbers inside formulas, volatile functions, error cells grouped by type, external links, full-column references — each with its location. Click a finding and Excel selects the cell. Pro adds a cross-sheet dependency overview and extracts your scattered constants into a proper Assumptions sheet, one click at a time.

Every risk grouped and counted, every finding one click from its cell — and Pro moves the magic numbers to an Assumptions sheet.

Free vs Pro

Free finds everything risky. Pro maps how sheets feed each other and helps you fix the constants for good.

FAQ

Does it change my formulas?

The scan never touches anything — it only reads and reports. The one writing feature is Pro's constant extraction, which you trigger explicitly, constant by constant, and which puts values on a new Assumptions sheet and updates the formulas to reference them.

How big a workbook can it handle?

The scan is capped at 200,000 cells per pass so it stays fast and Excel stays responsive. Beyond that, FormulaMap tells you honestly and lets you scan sheet by sheet.

Does my spreadsheet leave Excel?

No. Formulas are read and analysed locally in your Excel session. No uploads, no analytics. See the privacy policy.
