Brightpane Terms of Use
Applies to all Brightpane add-ins. Last updated: 12 June 2026.
1. The service
Brightpane is a family of add-ins for Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) that perform operations on content you select or open. In each add-in, the base tools are free of charge; additional "Pro" tools are unlocked with a paid license key.
2. Licenses
A Pro license is a one-time purchase, per product, that permits one person to use that product's Pro tools on the devices they personally use. Licenses are sold through Gumroad, Inc., whose terms of sale apply to the purchase itself. Refunds are available for 30 days after purchase — contact us or reply to your Gumroad receipt.
3. Acceptable use
You may not resell, redistribute, or share license keys, or attempt to circumvent the license mechanism. You remain responsible for your own documents, spreadsheets, emails and presentations, including keeping backups.
4. Warranty disclaimer
The add-ins are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. They modify content at your instruction; review results and use Office's undo (Ctrl+Z) or your saved copies if an operation does not do what you expected. Where an operation is not fully supported by Microsoft's API on your platform, the add-in says so rather than guessing.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the use of any Brightpane add-in is limited to the amount you paid for your license for that add-in.
6. Changes to the service or terms
We may update the add-ins and these terms; material changes will be published at this address with an updated date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
