Installing MockData
In Excel (Windows, Mac, or web): Insert › Add-ins ›
My Add-ins › Upload My Add-in, then select the MockData
manifest.xml. A MockData button appears on your ribbon.
Coming to AppSource: MockData is being submitted to Microsoft's add-in marketplace, after which it installs in one click from inside Excel. Sideloading works today.
FAQ
Is the data downloaded from somewhere?
No. The wordlists ship inside the add-in and the generator runs entirely in your Excel session — no fetches, no API, works offline. Nothing about your workbook leaves Excel either. See the privacy policy.
What does "seeded" mean?
The random generator starts from a seed number you can see and set. Same seed, same columns, same row count — identical data. That makes test cases repeatable and demos predictable.
Could the fake IDs collide with real ones?
Pro's IBAN/BSN-style test IDs are checksummed so they pass format validation, but they're generated in clearly-fake ranges precisely so they can't be mistaken for real accounts or citizens. That's a deliberate design choice, not an accident.
